Visual DB is available as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, but can also be self-hosted on your own infrastructure if you prefer. You can run it on your laptop for personal projects, or deploy it on your intranet or in the cloud for business use.
When you self-host your data stays within your intranet, and helps you meet stringent data security and privacy requirements. If this is important to you, then consider self-hosting. Also, if you want to connect to databases on your intranet, self-hosting is the only option.
Visual DB server is compatible with Windows, Linux, and macOS, and supports x64 (Intel/AMD) and ARM64 processors, including Apple Silicon. The only prerequisite is Docker.
Windows Server 2019 and above are supported. Contact support if you want to run Visual DB on Windows Server.
